Job Title – Warehouse Operative
Location – Internal role, based at DVS Cardiff
Role Summary – The individual needs to be capable of providing first class working practice within the warehouse environment
As a warehouse operative you will form part of a team of 8 people reporting to the warehouse team leader. You will be enthusiastic and willing to get involved in all aspects of warehousing duties and will be a confident communicator and all round team player.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the below:
Main Responsibilities
- Checking incoming deliveries for damaged or missing items
- Picking, dispatching and packing sales orders, ensuring the three step checking process is adhered to
- Stock Rotation and Replenishment
- Ensure the warehouse is kept tidy and a safe working environment
- Provide quotations for carriage costs for Export Orders
- Regular stock control checks, ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and findings reported immediately
- Face to face customer interaction at trade counter
- Monitor the pick list spreadsheet to ensure all pick sheets are accounted for
- Ensuing the forklift and other machinery are in good working order and used in the correct manner
- Assist with all relevant Health & Safety checks i.e. FLT, Racking, Conveyor, Ladders, General Warehouse checks, vehicle(s), together with any other relevant H&S checks. Training and instructions will be provided
- Liaise with couriers, i.e. chase deliveries, shortages, and raise claims, monitoring the amount of consignments to go out for number of vans required
- Feed back to Team Leader if stock levels of packaging materials and accessories, i.e. tape, labels, etc. are needed to be ordered
- Liaise with other departments within the business
- Any other duties associated with, or different from those specified above at the request of the Management, or to meet the needs of the business demands
