Job Title – Business Development Brand Manager – Ciqurix

Brief Description of Role:
To drive the partnership with our vendor Ciqurix to increase sales and market share in the relevant markets. This will be achieved through strong communication skills and working with the vendor at all levels while advising and promoting the products to the sales teams, sub-distributors and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Relationships
• Be the principal contact for the vendor, liasing with them on a continuous basis to develop and improve working relationships and partnerships with the vendor and their appropriate individuals.
• Develop an intimate understanding of the key trading terms for the vendor; working to continually improve terms and working procedures between both parties.
• Increase the market share for the vendor and assist driving activity for sales of key products and product lines (measured by aggregate gross profit earned if possible).
Business Development
• Help build short and long-term business plans in conjunction with the relevant Managers and, aftersign off, help build strategies to achieve the agreed goals.
• Gain regular feedback on market and competitive activity from sales teams, vendor and other sources, and report this to Managers as appropriate;
• Gain industry-specific knowledge with a strong emphasis on product expertise and technology. It is essential that the candidate not only understands the “why” and “where” of our products application, but can also identify unique opportunities through innovative, “out-of-the-box” thinking, particularly within the fire industry.
• Review and scrutinise daily sales quote reports. Use this information to engage directly with customers and proactively forecast stock, remedying stock and pricing issues before they happen.
• Review and minimise allocated stock whilst maintaining appropriate levels based on order requirements.
• Manage both sales and vendor’s sales pipeline. Use this information to provide the purchasing department with forward looking projections of sales and stock requirements.
• Engage with customers by all methods in a technical, project pre and post sales support
• Develop sound technical product and market knowledge with the ability to demonstrate products directly to customers and end users.
• Implement marketing activities as required, and provide guidance and direction to the Marketing Manager that are in line with objectives and strategies
• Provide feedback to Managers on new product opportunities.
• Analyse sell out data to identify opportunities and areas for improvement and implements appropriate action plans; in conjunction with reports provided from the vendor.
Profit and Working Capital Management
• Use available management information to scrutinise relevant brand performance versus plan and provide proactive solutions to correct or improve performance where necessary;
• Review pricing rules within the company’s database to maximise our trading margin considering market conditions, stock availability and any special stock purchases;
• Daily review sales out data
• Weekly review profit margin reports issued from the relevant department or system and take immediate and appropriate actions to remedy any issues that negatively affect the margin;
• Review stock listings to identify aged and problematic stock during each month and take appropriate remedial action for the most cost-effective solution ensuring that the aged stock and working capital needs of the business are met raising any issues with the relevant Manager;
• Proactively manage the stock profile targets and maintain a regular dialogue with the relevant Managers;
• Manage stocking and promotional deals for the vendor. Work with sales and marketing on a sales out plan before gaining sign-off. Operate on a 0-3-month review cycle on all deals outside of standard stocking and cash flow terms.
• Proposes cost reductions and improved processes in respect of the administration involved with the designated vendor.
Internal Business Support
• Maintain face to face contact with our sales staff to ensure a desired level of vendor focus and where appropriate provide briefings to highlight key opportunities or other significant messages;
• Support the sales team with product and price queries and information required for customer proposals;
• Implement and drive internal and external sales activities and incentives that are in line with the business and the vendors’ goals;
• Organise appropriate training to maximise sales, profit and market share;
• Liaise with and support the retruns team regarding customer returns or returns stock issues and escalate any major issues to the releavnt Managers
• Present to the relevant Managers as required on any issues that may affect the vendor;
• Observe Company ground rules and procedures in respect of training and incentives;
• Provide feedback each month to the Business or Manager on any queries relating to the monthly management accounts.
• Identify key target customers and work with the sales specialists to maximize the business opportunities from a target list of customers
